At its plenary meeting on 30 Apr 2021, ITU-T Study Group 17 noted that, according to an agreement between the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Information Society (in Spanish, MINisterio de TELecomunicaciones y de la sociedad de la información (MINTEL)) (Administration representing Ecuador in the ITU) and the Ecuadorian Standardization Institute (in Spanish, INstituto Ecuatoriano de Normalización (INEN)) (organization representing Ecuador in ISO), the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Information Society is the registration authority for the country OID of Ecuador. This was further noted by ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 6 at its plenary meeting on 9 Sep 2021.
